On the Rehacare Trade Show in Düsseldorf (October 21 – 24 2011) Alber has presented the new premium push and brake aid viamobil V25, the successor of the well-known V15.

To improve the wheelchair compatibility and enable mounting to even more chairs, the drive unit has become very compact. Compared with the V15 the overall height could be reduced by 10 cm! Therefore the new V25 fits even better underneath comfort chairs without limiting their adjustability. Moreover the weight of the drive unit could be reduced by almost 3 kg.

The energy source of V25 is a modern Lithium-Ion battery pack, weighing only 2,3 kg (compared with V15 / battery for the same range: 9 kg). Thanks to highly durable battery cells Alber provides a 24 months warranty on the battery pack. 

Ease of operation had top priority when developing the V25, as this product will mostly be used by elderly people. The smartest innovation on the V25 is the Magnetic Plug System EasyConnex. The plug of the control unit and the charger find their socket on the battery pack all by themselves – thanks to magnetic force. 

But we also kept the good things, like the proven mounting brackets. So the new V25 fits onto a wheelchair already equipped with brackets for V15 or scalamobil stair climber. By this all the wheelchair-specific mounting documentation is still valid, no additional mounting training is necessary. 

V25 is extremely versatile as it fits to almost every wheelchair, user profile (even persons with a weight of up to 160 kg) and applications possible (excellent climbing capability for overcoming even steep gradients/slopes).  This versatility makes V25 very cost efficient in markets where technical aids are funded and reused.
